Reproducible SUmmation under HUB Format
claimed by programmers and end users. Half-Unit-Biased
(HUB) is a new representation format in which the round
to nearest is carried out by truncation, preventing any carry
propagation and saving time and area. In this paper we study
the reproducible summation of HUB numbers by using a errorfree
vector transformation technique, providing both a specific
architecture and the usage of combined HUB/Standard floating
point adders to achieve a reproducible resultUniversidad de Málaga. Campus de Excelencia Internacional Andalucía Tech
Sovereign bond-backed securities as European reference safe assets: a review of the proposal by the ESRB-HLTF
Artículo de revistaA High-Level Task Force (HLTF ) of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) has recently put forward a proposal aimed to increase the supply of low-risk financial assets in Europe through the securitisation of national euro area sovereign debt. This article reviews the proposal from different angles, including regulatory and financial stability considerations, as well as current market practices relevant to safe assets. We conclude that the proposal has some positive elements that would help to foster financial integration in the euro area, although it would also pose challenges related to financial stability in times of stress. All the pros and cons of the proposal should be properly accounted for if further steps are taken to develop this proposal
Automatic Text Summarization Approaches to Speed up Topic Model Learning Process
The number of documents available into Internet moves each day up. For this
reason, processing this amount of information effectively and expressibly
becomes a major concern for companies and scientists. Methods that represent a
textual document by a topic representation are widely used in Information
Retrieval (IR) to process big data such as Wikipedia articles. One of the main
difficulty in using topic model on huge data collection is related to the
material resources (CPU time and memory) required for model estimate. To deal
with this issue, we propose to build topic spaces from summarized documents. In
this paper, we present a study of topic space representation in the context of
big data. The topic space representation behavior is analyzed on different
languages. Experiments show that topic spaces estimated from text summaries are
as relevant as those estimated from the complete documents. The real advantage
of such an approach is the processing time gain: we showed that the processing
time can be drastically reduced using summarized documents (more than 60\% in
general). This study finally points out the differences between thematic
representations of documents depending on the targeted languages such as
English or latin languages.Comment: 16 pages, 4 tables, 8 figure
The appearance of the competencies demands two things: to fit them into the body of existing knowledge of the Science Education and to clarify his meaning. The main aim of the didactic unit project done about the Electrical Circuits Study at Primary School, its functioning, and the valuation of some of the effects produced on the student body learning. After having checked some proposals and contributions in relation to this subject, we decided to adapt the raised one by Pro (2008) for this educational stage. Once the materials have been done we tried to study how they evolved the subcompetencies in three experimental activities: realization of assemblies, description of observations, elaboration of predictions, interpretation of observations and predictions, and model use of electrical current
The main aim of the didactic unit project done about the energy consumption and saving at Primary School, it functioning, and the valuation of some of the effects produced on the student body learning. Attention to the adolescent in primary care centers
Background: Adolescence appears as a vulnerable period in human development. Effect of the water matrix and reactor configuration on Enterococcus sp. inactivation by UV-A activated PMS or H2O2
In this work, the influence of the matrix on the photolytic activation of peroxymonosulfate (PMS) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has been studied for the inactivation of Enterococcus sp. Additionally, two different reactor configurations (batch reactor and tubular reactor) have been evaluated that achieve complete disinfection within 120 min when using a tubular reactor. Three water matrices (distilled water, saline solution and simulated wastewater) have been studied, and experiments have been carried out using radical scavengers to determine the main reactive species involved in each process. The hydroxyl radical (center dot & nbsp;OH) has been found to be the main responsible for the inactivation of bacteria in distilled water, while chlorinated species generated during treatments are responsible for disinfection in a saline matrix. The study of the influence of various inorganic ions (Br- ,& nbsp; F-, PO43-, NO3-, NO2-) on treatments revealed an increase in the efficacy of the PMS/UV-A system in the presence of Br- due to the bromine generation. Furthermore, the effect of F- has been studied for the first time, determining that the presence of this compound does not have a significant influence on the H2O2/UV-A system while inhibiting PMS/UV-A treatment. Overall, the results suggest that H2O2-based treatments would be less dependent on matrix composition than those involving PMS, and the presence of nitrites is a contraindication to the application of either process

periphery to the cortex. In addition, they are part of a corticothalamocortical loop
between areas with a modulatory control. Far from being similar, thalamic neurons in
different thalamic nuclei have different axonal architectures, which determine its
function.
In rodents, synapses from the “specific” or “lemniscal” dorsomedial portion of the ventral
posteromedial nucleus (VPMdm) drive the primary somatosensory cortex layer 4 neurons, while
the 'paralemniscal' or 'multispecific' posterior nucleus (Po), connects with layer 5a pyramidal
neurons. Despite the relative low number of thalamocortical boutons, their synapses are highly
effective, which may depend on the structural synaptic features of these boutons. Through an
electron microscopy approach, we 3D-reconstructed and quantitatively analyzed anterogradely
labeled axons from both thalamic nuclei in their corresponding cortical layers.
Virtually all synapses are located in boutons, which have shown differences in their size,
number and mitochondrial size and number of synaptic vesicles. In addition, 80% of synapses
are on dendritic spines, some of which form large dendritic protrusions included by the
presynaptic bouton membrane. Both populations has been showed a postsynaptic density of
similar size, however, there is a higher percentage of multisynaptic boutons in VPMdm axons.
Taken together, the structural features of different pre- and postsynaptic elements contribute to
the different functional phenotype observed for VPMdm axons as a 'first order' thalamic
nucleus, and for Po axons as a 'higher order' thalamic nucleus involved in the modulation of
synaptic transmission.
